National Canadian Girl promotes self esteem and building friendships. We do not claim to be your path to stardom, and pageants should never be that path. Any pageant that claims you are going to be discovered, rich, famous, etc. is one I would personally steer clear of, as no pageant will do that for you. They are not talent scouting events, and should not be treated as such.
If you wish to acquire representation for your child in the film industry for commercials, print or film work, all you need to do is look up reputable agencies in your area, and submit a photo and resume to them. Never pay to be scouted. Be wary of anything where people want your money to make you a star, as these are generally scams (talent conventions, pageants with promises, etc..). Never sign with an agent that requires you to take their in house acting/modeling classes or get their in house photos. The ONLY thing an agent should charge you is commission on work you book through their agency.
The following are our some of our success stories, with girls who have come a long way with their own self esteem building:
- My daughter is ten years old and the average height of a six or seven year old. You can imagine everyday she is bullied and teased about her size. Never picked first, left to sit alone at lunch. Her school work started to go down hill. As her mom it made me so sad to hear her heart ache. Maybe she can't run as fast or jump as high, but this kids got heart and personality. I found National Canadian Pageant Girl on line and decided to give it a try, as she loves to dress up and have fun. The first time I saw the smile on my daughters face up on that stage made my heart skip a beat. In that moment being crowned, she realized that she doesn't have to be tall and strong, on stage she just has to be herself and have fun. She has met many new friends, giving her a new found sense of confidence. Her school work is getting better and she's not afraid to tell those bullies that she doesn't have to be like them, she's proud of who she is, the way she is. We thank National Canadian Girl Pageant for the opportunity to help girls be proud of who they are. - Mom of a 10 yr old girl.
- My daughter did her first pageant with Liz at the end of 2011. It has been life changing for her. She has struggled for several years with a severe anxiety disorder. Being surrounded with such wonderful kindness at the pageants, I have watched her confidence grow more than I ever thought it could. She now beams with pride when she is on stage and she has become just a really happy and positive girl. She went from 'broken' to not being able wait to speak in front of an audience. We are so grateful. Pageants can have a bad reputation, but if you could only see what it has done for our daughter, you'd see how wonderful they really are (especially Liz's). THANK YOU! - Mom of a 9 yr old girl
- Starting pageants was my ten year old daughters idea, she has tried dancing, swimming and martial arts nothing seemed to keep her interest except pageants she lives for them! They give little girls a chance to be just that little girls playing dress up ( there's nothing nasty about them and no different then the millions of girls wearing make- up and costumes for dance!) unfortunately some TV shows out there are giving pageants a bad name for ratings ( would you really watch them if all that drama didn't exist ?) We have met the nicest people ,pageants have built my daughters confidence and opened many doors and connections for other great opportunities !!! THANK YOU !!! NCG &DBD!!! - Mom of a 10 yr old girl
- I have told Liz over and over that she has saved my daughter's life! My 8 year old was so extremely shy, and would not even raise her hand in class. She had no friends. We tried everything from ballet class to swimming to girl guides, but nothing held her attention. One day we saw an ad for the natural pageants on craigslist and I asked my daughter if this is something she would like to try. I was shocked when she said yes, and then spent the rest of the week asking me if I had signed her up yet. She was thrilled with her first tiara and I could not believe the confidence she displayed on stage. A year later, she is a completely different child. She has a large circle of friends at school and is no longer the shy child with no friends. Thank you Liz, we are forever grateful! -Mom of a 9 yr old girl
